GOODBYE FACEBOOK

Hello my Darlings!
I am so sorry for the lack of posts over the past couple of weeks- I have been so busy with assignments that I have literally been throwing on a hoodie or living in my pyjamas, so I know you'd be less than impressed with my (pretty horrific) Journalism-Law chic. I'm gonna try and do a few fashion news articles and some catwalk reports to fill this space, but today I want to talk about something un-fashion related (hear me out!) but it's relevant to probably all of you so i'm just gonna ramble and express my views, please feel free to tell me your opinions!

OKAY.. so here it is.. I DELETED FACEBOOK.

YEP.

Well, as I found out, you can only deactivate it, which basically defeats the whole objective of getting rid of this (in my opinion) vile excuse for a social networking site. I assume this is all part of Facebooks brainwashing tactics as having such an accessible method of reactivation means that people will, more than likely, log back in JUST TO HAVE A PEEK.. which naturally then turns into liking a status, joining a group.. GOING ALL THE WAY BACK TO 2007 VIA JANET BROWNS PROFILE PICTURES BECAUSE SHE WAS A BITCH IN SCHOOL AND I WANT TO SEE IF SHE'S GOT FAT.* In other words, it's like taking a bag of cocaine off a violently dependent drug user and leaving them in an empty room par this particular bag in a locker.. that they know the combination to. It will start off with 'ooh i'll just have a bit to keep me satisfied'.. shortly followed by them rolling around in it screaming "I LOVE COCAINE".

Okay, slight exaggeration. But in terms of a metaphor it's a pretty accurate description of Facebook. Although many people will make a beeline for this 'drug' after a few days or so, there will, of course, there will be people who have enough will power to stay away from it. I truly believe I am one of these people, because I think I have a few very valid reasons for leaving.

1) PEOPLE. I have managed to build up a list of around 1000 friends. Half of whom I have never met in my life, a quarter of whom I hate. Scientists have concluded that the brain is only able to maintain 150 stable social relationships at any one time, and to be honest, there are probably about 20 people who's 'Facebook friendship' I actually value, and these are people whos main interaction with me is via face to face communication, texts, or phone calls. So with regards to the argument 'BUT YOU'LL CUT ALL TIES WITH YOUR FACEBOOK FRIENDS'.. I don't care. If I really matter to these people, they will make other efforts to contact me, and vice versa.

2) PICTURES. I am sick to death of seeing 4000 pictures a day of girls in my sisters year wearing the same makeup, hair, pose.. although they do change their clothes to mix it up a bit. I assume this happens every ten minutes. The sad thing is that these girls actually rely on these photos to gain themselves attention-approval from both males and females which seals an acceptance into some form of in-group which, in 2 years time, will probably no longer exist. We all know it feels good when someone 'likes' a picture of you. So through conditional learning we post more and more photos in anticipation of the positive feeling you get when you see 'so & so liked a picture of you'.. even if so & so is your uncles creepy friend who probably masturbates over Waterloo Road. Personally, i'd rather someone make a judgement of me based on my character, rather than gaining an opinion by scrutinising my profile pictures.

3) FARMVILLE REQUESTS. I DON'T EVEN HAVE TO JUSTIFY THIS. GO AWAY.

4) FACEBOOK CHAT. It was bad enough having to deal with at least one random guy a day messaging me with "HI. HI GORGEOUS. HI. HEY BABE. HI. WUU2? U K? HI. HEY." But when Facebook comes up with the ingenius plan of LETTING THESE SLIMEBALLS KNOW YOU'VE READ THEIR MESSAGE, AT THE EXACT TIME, AND THAT YOU ARE IGNORING THEM, this really does become an issue. I then get these guys informing me that I am ignoring them. No shit, Sherlock.

5)STATUSES. "WHY ARE ALL MEN THE SAME? I WANT A MAN NOT A BOY" "OMG THE X-FACTOR IS SUCH A FIX!" "CUDDLES & CHINESE WITH MY BOY <3" sound familiar? Yeahhhhhhhhh. Exactly. "SOOOOOOO HUNGOVER" I don't care. Take a Berocca and man up. Have a nice day.

I could sit here all day justifying my reasons for leaving Facebook, but let's be honest, it's wasted enough of my time as it is, and I really just don't need it clogging up my life anymore. The days of aimlessly scrolling through my news feed are LONG GONE, and do you know what? It's only been about four days, but I don't miss it at all.

Exciting News! Get Paid To Shop At Your Own Mall..zee

Imagine owning your very own Shopping Mall filled with your favourite brands and stores, complete with your very own personal shopper introducing you to products that suit your personal style to a T- products that you can browse without leaving the comfort of your house...Sounds like heaven, right?

Well, what if I told you that a couple of days ago, I opened a very exciting email telling me that this little slice of heaven is about to become a reality, courtesy of Mallzee- a new website designed to create a new, social experience for online shoppers.

Basically, you create your own Mall by choosing your favourite stores and brands, of which there are currently over 200 available on Mallzee, including Urban Outfitters, St. Tropez, and New Look. Mallzee will then find products that suit your personal tastes for you, so you don't have to waste time trawling through items you don't like to find that perfect piece! You can invite friends, chat to them, ask for their opinions and get some great discounts... and here's the amazing part- you can earn money if anyone buys anything from your Mallzee, including yourself! So any excuses you have not to sign up, being paid to shop pretty much outrules them all, don't you think?

If that's not enough, Mallzee are running a competition to win £100 ($155). So what are you waiting for? Get signed up for your prelaunch invite at www.mallzee.com, or just check the site for more details!

If It Ain't Baroque-en...

Peplum Top- New Look
Black Crop Bandeau- New Look
Disco Pants- Missguided
Plain Black Heels- New Look
Rose Gold Watch- ASOS

Hey Guys! Sorry I haven't posted in a few days- I've been back in Sheffield this weekend (hence the slightly better image quality) and have been busy catching up with my family! I wore this very 'New Look' based outfit on Friday night when I went for dinner and drinks with my boyfriend. We went to a gorgeous Italian and a couple of bars for cocktails which was lovely. We decided to get the Tram into town instead of driving so we could both have a cheeky alcoholic tipple, so I wanted to wear something a little warmer than your average 'going-out' dress because it's usually soooo cold on the Tram, and I didn't want to take a coat in case we decided to go to a couple of clubs after, so I opted for these Missguided Disco Pants which are so comfortable and warm, and really versatile as you can dress them up or just chill out in them! I bought the top on impulse last week when browsing a few shops in Lincoln. I really should stop spending so much money on clothes but it's become such an addiction and I just HAD to have this as I love a Baroque print and a cheeky Peplum! The print is Velvet in an Oxblood shade which made it all the more irresistible as it's perfect for Christmas, but the top is a light enough material to wear in warmer months as well. You might notice my hair is a little darker and my horrible roots have disappeared too! I finally managed to visit my hairdresser and I feel so much better for it. This is pretty much my natural colour and I reckon i'm gonna keep it this way for a long time now as i'm trying to grow it a little longer and I think it suits my colouring much better than a harsher blonde. It's much less maintenance now as well!

Must Have Item: Lancelot Knight Bags

I don't know about you guys but this cold, gloomy weather is not my cup of tea AT ALL (that reminds me, someone please put the kettle on as it is FREEZING!) The second August ended, everyone brought out the big jumpers and dark colours which, after just two months, are driving me crazy already. We all need a bit of colour and fluorescence in our lives to perk us up a little and get us dreaming of those Summer months which are so close, yet so far away.

Well Kiddos, dream no more because I have good news! Whoever decided that bright colours are criminal in winter- their days are OVER because when I opened my email inbox yesterday, I discovered a link to the most vibrant, beautiful, anti-frostbite bags you will ever see.

I honestly think that Lancelot Knight have created a solution to arm-candy woes this Winter. Their gorgeous range includes the classically shaped Avon Barrel, and the amazingly retro Chelsea Satchel and Harrow Bag. I'm not gonna lie, I can't actually decide which is my favourite although I am definitely leaning towards the Barrel, with its sophisticated shape and simple design, it really does cater to everyone- if you're a style-seeking student, the bright colours and classic design are perfect, and if you're a busy Mum, the wipe clean material is fab for when one of the kids gets their grubby hands on it!

The Avon Barrel starts at £115 which, for some of you, may be a little out of your budget for a bag, but if you're comparing it to other high quality, designer handbags out there, it's pretty good value and would be worth saving up for! I think i'm gonna have to sneak one of these onto my Christmas list, let's call it an 'Investment Piece'...

Of course, if you're not confident enough to brave a bright bag, or simply just want a colour that matches EVERY outfit, there are classic, rustic shades of brown which look gorgeous on a handbag with such a retro feel. I absolutely love the colour of this Chelsea Satchel- if I saw anyone walking down the street with one of these I would have serious Satchel envy.

The Chelsea Satchel starts at £98 and comes in a range of colours perfect for Winter, and get this- they are not dull AT ALL! Loving the gorgeous berry shades which are a hit his Autumn/Winter.

Last but not least- the Harrow Bag. As of present, these bags sport a more fluorescent tone than the Chelsea Satchel which adds a gorgeous edge to such a vintage shape. I absolutely love the Fluoro Pink version. Come to think of it, I love them all!

I hope you guys love them as much as I do! I think the only bad thing about these bags is deciding which colour to pick as they are all SO nice. Make sure you grab one before everyone else does!

Check Shirt: Missguided
Leather Skirt: River Island
Fur Stole: H&M
Stud Chelsea Boots: Missguided

First of all, I have to apologise for the horrible image quality! I still have to find somewhere with decent lighting and a plain backdrop in my house in Lincoln, and as this was taken at 2am there was nobody around to photograph me, so I had to make do with my webcam. I will try and find somewhere better for next time!

Anyway, I wore this for work last night as I love a bit of a Heritage feel, and I really wanted to wear my fur stole again as it was the coldest Bonfire Night in 100 years and I knew I was going to be FREEZING! I actually wore my white Converse to work as they are really comfortable and good for moving around in, so they are perfect for Promo work. However, when I wear this outfit I usually wear my Stud Chelsea boots from Missguided! Again, sorry the image quality is shocking but if you wanna see a clearer picture of these then check out my 'She's Fur Real' post. I really love this leather skirt as it's so versatile and comfortable, you can honestly wear it with almost anything so I can see why so many people have them this season. I'm working again tonight but I think i'll be making do with a less than stylish big hoodie and some jeans as I don't think I can tackle this weather in tights again!

I Moustache You A Question...

Most of you will know that this month is a time for all different types of weird and wonderful facial hair- MOVEMBER! Yep, it's the time of the year where you can't turn a corner without a crowd of hairy gentlemen crossing your path, but it's all for a good cause. These brilliant men are doing this in aid of raising awareness about prostate and testicular Cancer. Obviously us ladies are incapable of sprouting a full on Handlebar tash, but we CAN still show our support by purchasing some of the amazing Moustache-themed products out there. Personally, I am in LOVE with Moustache Jewellery, as it's so versatile and you could wear one key piece every day, or switch it up with lots of different items. Check these out!

She's Fur Real

Stud Jumper: Missguided
Split Maxi Skirt: Missguided
Faux-Fur Stole: H&M
Coat: ASOS
Knee Length Socks: ASOS
Stud Chelsea Boots: Missguided

Hey Guys! I'm back in Sheffield today and as most of you know, it's definitely colder up North! Okay, Lincoln is only 50 miles away but I definitely felt the breeze when I got home, so naturally I used it as an excuse to go to Meadowhall and invest in this gorgeous faux-fur stole from H&M. I wore it straight away when I went to the cinema with my boyfriend, and let me tell you, I felt like such a diva, especially with my Russian style fur headband! I got the headband last year but I can't remember for the life of me where I got it from... they do them pretty much everywhere though so if you want to grab one for yourself a quick search on ShopStyle can't hurt!
Over the course of my posts you will come to realise that I have an unhealthy obsession with Missguided. I got these gorgeous stud Chelsea boots from there, and they are SO comfortable, which is great as I like to wear them a lot to add height as I am not the tallest. I get so many of my clothes from there as they do really gorgeous items for a decent price, plus they always have offers on delivery, which is free a lot of the time so you're not 'wasting' valuable clothes money on P&P! They also deliver really quickly aswell so if you haven't got anything from there already then PLEASE check it out, you won't regret it!
